The primary focus of the GEMS/Water
encourages a standardized approach to data generation through providing guidance and training on all aspects of monitoring and assessment and quality assurance. GEMS/Water providesCapacity Development Centre (GEMS/Water CDC) at University College Cork is to build capacity for ambient freshwater quality monitoring and assessment globally. The GEMS/Water CDC seeks to achieve this by providing education, training, guidance and appropriate support, based on
capacityrecognized capacity needs at national and regional levels,
and develops training for delivery in countries all over the worldin ambient freshwater quality monitoring and assessment in countries worldwide.
